The Vancouver Italian Language School and Vancouver New Music, with the generous support of the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver, are organizing a special event ‘Music and Sound in Dante’s Divine Comedy‘ to celebrate Dante’s 700 anniversary this Fall!
This workshop is conducted in English and will explore the Divine Comedy from a symbolic and musicological perspective. It will also prepare attending students, composers, and performers for creating their musical pieces inspired by the workshop and Dante’s work.

The Week of the Italian Language in the World is an event that has been held since 2001 and that over time has become one of the most important initiatives dedicated to the celebration of the Italian language internationally. Since its establishment, the initiative has been awarded each year High Patronage by the Presidency of the Republic.
Each Week is dedicated to a different theme, which serves as a common thread for a rich programme of conferences, exhibitions and meetings.
