With the goal of establishing business relationships with North American companies and raise awareness of the productive and commercial potential of the Region of Basilicata, an institutional and commercial delegation from Basilicata is visiting Vancouver and Calgary from September 27th to October 3rd.
The mission is comprised of companies specialized in the furniture, agrifood, wine andtourism sectors, led by the President of the Basilicata Foreign Centre, Giovanni Matarazzo; together with the International Director of the Region of Basilicata, Dr. Emilio Libutti; the Managers of “Sviluppo Italia”, Roberto Rosi and Raffaele Ricciuti; as well as representatives of the two Chambers of Commerce of Matera and Potenza.
The members of the institutions and the companies will attend “Flavours of Italy”, a Trade Show that will take place in Vancouver and Calgary, where they will also participate in a series of business to business meetings with local operators, with the support of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada and its President Lucio Sacchetti.
The initiative, which is a part of the agreement between Regione Basilicata and ICE has the goal of promoting and strengthening political and commercial agreements, of facilitating new market opportunities in the Pacific Northwest and in particular with British Columbia and Alberta.
This mission is the result of preliminary meetings initiated last year between delegates of the Basilicata and Canadian institutions.
This current initiative, which will be followed by missions of Canadian companies to meet businesses in Potenza and Matera, represents an important opportunity to support the internationalization process of Basilicata companies in a difficult moment of the Basilicata economy.
