Flavours of Italy, 2006 

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada invites you to its annual Flavours of Italy - a food and wine celebration, taking place in Vancouver on September 28th and in Calgary on October 2nd.

 

Vancouver details: September 28th

Please visit your local BCLDB store and look for the Flavours of Italy displays during this month-long promotion found in 50 selected stores. The highlight of this fourth year event in Vancouver is the wine and food industry trade show, a consumer wine tasting and Gala Dinner being held on September 28th, 2006 at the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside.   Sample over 200 wines and taste samples from BOSA foods

Italian Bank Merger to create top Bank

MILAN, Italy (Reuters) -- The boards of Banca Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI have approved plans to merge, creating Italy's top bank which will rival Europe's biggest lenders.

The link-up between the banks agreed on Saturday will transform Italy's business landscape, putting the new lender at the pinnacle of the country's fragmented banking system and forging a national champion able to fend off takeovers by foreign banks.
