Basilicata is one of the most dynamic and progressive Italian regions. Since the late-Nineties, there has been significant economic growth, resulting in a GDP increase, lower unemployment and a stronger business environment. This has attracted a substantial number of both Italian and foreign companies to the area.
The region's strategic geographic position and its efficient road and rail network provide easy access to important markets. Companies can rely on universities and centers of excellence to provide support to companies focusing on innovation.
