 Past Event Facts:

2003 featured Regione Piemonte held at the Coast Plaza Hotel in December. A one day trade show representing food and wine to local trade with a wine tasting; pleased the 200 guests who attended the trade show and 300 guests who attended the Gala dinner.

2004 featured Regione Abruzzo held at the Sheraton Hotel in September.  Chefs flew in from the Alma Culinary Institute and partnered with head Chefs from the Sheraton and Bis Moreno Restaurant; preparing a six course dinner.  A two day trade show focusing on food, wine and furniture manufactures from Abruzzo provided information to local businesses on the products Abruzzo offers.  200 guests enjoyed the two day trade show and over 250 guests enjoyed the gala dinner.

2005 featured the Regione Sardegna held at the Renaissance Hotel in April.  Chefs flew in from Oristano and prepared an authentic Oristano 6 course meal.  A one day trade show focused on Artisan products and Oristano Food and Wine.  Over 300 guests attend the trade show and 300 guests attend the evening dinner.  The Sutton Place Hotel - Edmonton during November was the host hotel for Comunita Montana & Provincia di Latina Flavours of Italy trade show & Gala Dinner

2006 featured the Region of Basilicata held during September at the Renaissance Hotel in Vancouver and during October in Calgary.  A busy trade show was followed by sold out gala dinners in Both Cities.

Since its inception in 2003; Flavours of Italy has become a must attend event for ICCC Members and high profile Vancouver business people. 

In Vancouver Flavours of Italy has two

month-long BCLDB promotion.  The highlight of this promotion is a wine and food industry trade show and Gala Dinner.  The wine and food tasting for media and hospitality industry professionals will consist of a one-day trade show featuring specialty foods and wines from the Region of Basilicata, effected through a partnership between the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada and the Foreign Trade Centre of Basilicata. The trade show will also feature local BC wine agents promoting over 200 imported Italian wines.

Flavours of Italy in Vancouver, BC consists of three main elements:

1. A British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch thematic in-store promotion, lasting the entire month of September and involving displays in 50 selected stores promoting pre-selected Italian wines. The Chamber solicits participation from wine agents representing Italian wines who view the promotion as an excellent opportunity to present Italian wines to BC consumers. The number of participating agents has increased from 15 to 25 over three years.

2. A wine and food tasting for media and hospitality industry professionals; a one-day trade show featuring specialty foods and wines from the Province of Basilicata, through a partnership between our Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce of Basilicata.  The wine tasting will feature local BC wine agents promoting 100’s of imported Italian wines.

3. A gala evening dinner with each course of the gala dinner boasting authentic Italian ingredients which will be paired with wines imported directly form Italy.  The Gala evening is a fundraiser for the Chamber and the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company.
