Fashion Show “Quench Your Senses”

The Edmonton office of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada, with the support of the Consulate of Italy, organized a fashion show event on February 25th in the new futuristic building of the Edmonton BMW. The event took place just a day before the closing ceremonies as a tribute to Torino’s excellent performance in staging the 2006 Winter Olympics.

The sold-out event was attended by the Consul of Italy Dr. Arnaldo Minuti, His Worship Mayor Stephen Mandel and Councillor David Thiele. Guests were greeted on their arrival on the main floor of the cardealership with an excellent Italian prosecco, chilled and stored inside a vintage Vespa scooter seat. As they proceeded upstairs towards the futuristic setting, guests were able to quench and delight their senses with exquisite Italian wines, delicious finger foods, Italian Gelato, Espressos and Chocolate hand massages. Fashion importers, Gnuda and Derks together showcased almost 50 outfits for Edmonton’s sizzling Spring/Summer 2006 collections in a modern, upbeat atmosphere. Important brands like Versace, Cornegliani, Ermenegildo Zegna made their appearance on the busy runway, accompanied by photo flashes and lights.

The evening ended with two grand gift baskets and three door prizes presented by MC Jennifer Martin and Mayor Stephen Mandel.
