The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada – Vancouver Edmonton Calgary – (ICCC) invites industry associations, economic development agencies and municipalities in Alberta to actively participate in the “Best of the West” initiative which will take place in Torino, Italy between January and March 2006 over the period around the Torino Winter Olympics when all eyes will be focused on Canada as the host country of the next Winter Games in 2010.
“Best of the West” is a promotional initiative organized by the ICCC in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of Turin and with the support of Western Economic Diversification, Federal Government and Alberta Economic Development. Together with ICCC and its partners, YOUR ORGANIZATION can develop, coordinate and deliver a series of industry focused promotional and business development events which, thanks to ICCC’s extensive professional networks and business alliances, will engage qualified business and institutional partners in Italy.
“Best of the West” promotional and business matching activities will take place primarily at the Torino Chamber of Commerce and BC/Canada Place. BC/Canada Place is a 4000sq foot exhibition centre featuring a log home and modern structure, located in the centre of Torino, directly across from the headquarters of world’s 100 unaccredited media agencies. The BC/Canada Place has been built to showcase Canada, its culture, its industry and its investment opportunities. ICCC will further provide coordination and customized on-the-ground assistance, including solicitation of Italian partners’ presence at b2b meetings, booking appointments, organizing collateral business and institutional meetings and organizing trips to other venues throughout Piemonte Region (factory tours, discussion panels at various technology parks and research centres, institutional meetings with Italian counterparts, etc).
We would like to engage Albertan associations and economic development offices to represent their industry sectors or municipalities in Turin, Italy, in order to explore or further expand tremendous business opportunities that exist for Canadian companies in the Piemonte region (please see attached document). With a positive response from your organization, additional funding for the promotion will be made available by Western Economic Diversification, Italian Chamber of Commerce and private partners.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS ADDITIONAL FUNDING THAT BEST OF THE WEST CREATES FOR TRADE MISSIONS, PROMOTIONS AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES ORGANIZED IN ITALY FROM JANUARY 15 – MARCH 21, 2006!
As a participant in the “Best of the West”, your organization should contribute its time, expertise, promotional materials and possibly minimal financial support (travel/accommodation costs alone are about $3500).
Participating organizations (such as yours) should provide the following support to the “Best of the West”:
· Assist in recruitment of member companies
· Prepare and deliver presentation during industry seminar/discussion panel
· Assist in setting up an exhibition/distributing materials, etc
· Participate in meetings with Italian industry representatives; make contacts on behalf of companies
· Participate in guided tours of industry parks in Torino and Piemonte region
· Participate in institutional meetings with complimentary Italian organizations; develop linkages which will initiate collaboration and future know-how and business exchanges between your organization/municipality and its Italian counterparts
ICCC is offering the following assistance:
· Travel and accommodation arrangements
· Complete “on-the-ground” coordination and professional assistance
· Industry sector specific, targeted business activities
· Free Market intelligence
· Evaluation of business opportunities for your member companies
· Business matching (collecting company profiles, identifying potential Italian partners, obtaining your feedback, selecting Italian companies – potential partners – and verifying their interest)
· Organizing seminar/presentation of our industry sector or discussion panel
· Organizing B2B meetings (contacting Italian companies, soliciting participation, organizing agenda of meetings) at the BC/Canada Place and at the Torino Chamber of Commerce offices and other venues
· Organizing tour of factories/industry related research centres or technology parks
· Interpreting services
· Advertising your seminar/presentation in Italy
As a representative of your industry, your major role would be to relay this excellent opportunity to your membership and industry partners, encouraging them to participate in the promotion.
