Flavours of Italy

FLAVOURS OF ITALY is an annual event of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada West dedicated at promoting the excellence of the Italian wines in Alberta and British Columbia.
The initiative comprises a variety of events and promotional activities that takes place every Fall in the cities of Vancouver and Calgary.
“Flavours of Italy”, as a prestigious trade and consumer event attended by local industry professionals, corporate leaders, provincial and municipal dignitaries, financial decision makers, numerous SME owners and the sophisticated consumers of Western Canada, offers exceptional promotional opportunities for participating partners and sponsors by improving their name brand positioning and generating excellent networking opportunities and sponsor identification and recognition as a community supporter in a charitable event.

  Some of the events organized durign the past editions:

  • Incoming trade mission of food and wine delegations from different regions of Italy;
  • Month-long BCLDB thematic image promotion in 50 selected BCLiquor Stores;
  • Exclusive “Flavours of Italy” regional dinners with suggested wine pairings at selected local restaurants. Media and most important industry buyers will be invited as VIP guests to those dinners along with limited number of public;
  • Wine awards and Flavours of Italy Gala Dinner;
  • Dine Italia – a restaurant dining promotion in selected 20 restaurants in the Vancouver area.

Tasting notes: This wine is bright ruby red, vivid and full. An intense aroma of red fruits, spices and red flowers lead to warm, full, soft and well-balanced flavours, with an aftertaste of red fruits in the finish. Best served with pasta with rich sauces, meat and seasoned cheeses.


Cusumano Nero d’Avola IGT

Tasting notes: A clean, bright Nero d’Avola with crushedblueberry, lemon-rind and mineral aromas and flavours. Full-bodied. Savory and delicious.


Arcanum Il Fauno

Tasting notes: A red blend with attractive currant, blueberry and spice on the nose and pallete.  Full body, very silky and polished tannins and a ripe rich finish.

Villa Teresa Organic Chardonnay Frizzante

Tasting notes: The wine shows earthy floral minerality and even a pinch of prune but there is a freshness of ripe cherry fruit and glossy tannin that slips down effortlessly inviting you to finish the bottle. The balance is perfect and the wine is clean.

Tasting notes: A full bouquet of ripe cherry and berries well blended with spicy notes that lend class and complexity. Full bodied, well balanced, and vibrant with  well rounded tannins and depth.

Tasting notes: Intense ruby red colour. In youth it has fresh varietal armomas of red fruit that become more complex with time. Over time it becomes more spicy with hints of toast and vanilla.


Lazio Cesanese Rosso

Tasting notes: Deep ruby red with intense aromas of marasca cherry followed by spicy notes of white-, black-pepper and violet. Soft and well balanced on the palate with persistent tannins and pronounced acidity; excellent with white meat, turkey, or savory stew.
