ATTENTION: WINE AGENTS

"Flavours of VENETO" BCLDB Thematic 2014 - June 2-30, 2014

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West, together with BCLDB, is organizing the “FLAVOURS OF VENETO” (Valpolicella & Valdobbiadene) image promotion in 60 BC Liquors Stores from June 2nd to June 30th, 2014.

As usual, the initiative will be backed by a wine and food pairing event for consumers, media and, on this occasion, with the participation of special guests – some of the visiting producers - at the Cambie & 39th Ave Signature Store (“Cambie Kitchen" event).

It is important to understand that this particular promotion is organized in partnership with Consorzio Valpolicella (www.consorziovalpolicella.it/en/ ) and Consorzio Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore ( www.prosecco.it/en/ ) and therefore the producers that are members of any of those 2 Consortiums will be given priority in the selection.
In addition, in the selection process, a preference will be given to SKU’s from those producers that have expressed an interest to participate with at least one of those Consortiums in the promotional tour organized in Western Canada (Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg) during the first week of June to support collateral promotional activities, such as trade and consumer wine tastings, educational seminars and guided tastings for media and industry professionals. There will be 10-15 producers from Valpolicella and 10-15 producers from Conegliano-Valdobbiadene participating in the promotional tour in Western Canada and while we will organize activities in both BC Government and private liquor stores for those producers that are already present in our market we will also organize B2B meetings and tastings for those producers that are looking for wine agents and buyers in BC, Alberta and Manitoba.
The “FLAVOURS OF VENETO” thematic will promote exclusively wines from the Valpolicella & Valdobbiadene wine regions and will be limited to a max of 12 SKU’s (most likely there will be 6 SKU’s from Valpolicella and 6 SKU’s from Valdobbiadene)

The SKUs must meet the criteria below:
• Must be a current BC Liquor Store Listing (cannot be those pending a delisting);
• Minimum price: $12.99;
• Maximum price: $29.99 (with an exception of wines distributed in more than 40 stores).

We will produce brochures, double backer cards, shelf talkers and shelf label talkers, and will advertise the promotion and the event in Taste magazine, ICCC's newsletter and online magazine Connect.it, as well as on LDB and ICCC websites and social media sites.

Please complete the application form – together with tasting notes and high resolution bottle shots (and any images or taglines you would like us to consider) – and email it to alex.martyniak@iccbc.com or fax it back to our office at 604-682-2997, preferably by Wednesday, March 12th but no later than FRIDAY, March 14th.

Applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis and will be submitted for a selection to Barbara Philip, BCLDB Portfolio Manager. Only one product per agent will be accepted.

For more information, please contact our office at 604-682-1410 - ask for Alex Martyniak, Business Development and Marketing Director.
